STORAGE WHEAT IN OPEN-COMMENT-

It is a poor situation when grain is left in the open to be contaminated by disease carried by rodents, insects and birds. I consider it a wasteful practice and a potential health hazard. Leptospirosis (Weil’s disease), contracted by contact with urine from rodents, has early symptoms similar to those of influenza and, unless treated immediately, rapidly progresses leading to kidney failure and death. This disease has been contracted from any surface contaminated by rodent urine e.g. cans or bottles of coke and other soft drinks. People must wash any container of drink from stores before drinking from it.
